Bone Fit™ Course Overview
You must complete Bone Fit™ LEVEL I: FOUNDATIONS before moving on to the LEVEL II: ADVANCED (Exercise or Clinical) course.

- Guidelines for designing, adapting, & progressing exercise programs
- Introduction to essential Bone Fit™ for the spine
Webinar Content:
- Case studies & problem solving for your exercise environment
- Adapting sport & activities with clients with osteoporosis with/without co-morbidities
Upon completion of LEVEL I: FOUNDATIONS workshop, participants will be able to:
- Conduct safe exercise preparedness screening for clients with low bone mass OR conduct a thorough clinical assessment and fracture screening (as appropriate to your primary OP work environment).
- Identify and modify exercises both beneficial and contraindicated for clients with osteoporosis.
- Adapt simple transitional movements and activities of daily living.
- Perform an evaluation of current ADL and recreational activities and provide safe alternatives when appropriate.
Online Training Information and Preparation Requirements:
- Webinars are three hours in length. Participants must attend the entire webinar.
- Online Modules A, B, C, D must be completed before attending the workshop.
- Activewear attire is highly recommended.
- Participants are required to have a yoga mat and two towels to perform exercises on the ground.
- Participants are required to turn on their webcam and participate when instructed.
Bone Fit™ LEVEL I: FOUNDATIONS fee: $300 (CAD)
The Bone Fit™ LEVEL IIA in-person workshop is aimed at exercise and fitness professionals providing exercise programming in the community.
This in-person training is an advancement of the Level I: FOUNDATIONS workshop and incorporates opportunities to learn additional exercises suitable for exercise programming and training to clients with low bone mass and uncomplicated osteoporosis. This is a practical, hands-on workshop where participants are expected to engage in practice of exercises, progressions, adaptations and problem solving for the any exercise environment from one-on-one to group exercise classwork.
A special focus of this course will be how to identify when a client should be referred to a physiotherapist.
LEVEL IIA Workshop Outline: (Exercise Environments)
- Recap of TFTF guidelines & principles
- Introduction to problem solving in your exercise environment
- Posture, balance, and walking patterns
- Additional Bone Fit™ spine exercises
- Progressions and adaptations of spine exercise, functional training (push, pull, hinge etc.,)
- Foam roller, scapular Stabilizer & combined exercises
- Adapting sports, ADLs & group exercise programming (critique & group work)
Upon completion of LEVEL IIA workshop, participants will be able to:
- Build upon previous knowledge of safe exercise screening for clients with low bone mass and uncomplicated osteoporosis (no current fractures or co-morbidities).
- Design exercise programming or customize exercise adaptation/progression using the TFTF guidelines with clients with osteoporosis
- Adapt common transitional movements, ADLs, and recreational activities.
- Safely incorporate posture and balance retraining within exercise programs for osteoporosis
- Safely incorporate core strengthening
By passing the final quiz (minimum 70%), you can:

Bone Fit™ LEVEL IIA Workshop fee: $300 (CAD)
The Bone Fit™ LEVEL IIB In-Person workshop is a comprehensive training program for rehabilitation professionals who work in a clinical environment where exercise prescription is the predominant modality for rehabilitation for clients with osteoporosis.
The overall objective of this workshop is to provide grounding for safe clinical assessment and management of clients with osteoporosis with and without comorbidities through exercise-based rehabilitation. This is a hands-on, practical workshop with ample time to practice the exercise progressions, adaptations and apply knowledge to complex patient cases.
LEVEL IIB Workshop Outline: (Clinical Environments)
- Recap of TFTF guidelines & principles
- Introduction to problem solving in your rehabilitation environment
- Posture, balance, and walking patterns
- Additional Bone Fit™ spine exercise
- Progressions and adaptations of spine exercise, functional training (push, pull, hinge etc.,)
- Foam roller, scapular stabilizer & combined exercises
- Rehabilitation application for complex clients with osteoporosis
- Rehabilitation recommendations for acute vertebral fracture management (BRIEF OUTLINE .
- Evidence-informed recommendations for manual therapy in osteoporosis
Note: PTAs or other health workers under directives of HCP, can only attend this workshop with proof that their manager has completed Bone Fit™ training OR they must attend together.
Upon completion of LEVEL IIB workshop, participants will be able to:
- Build upon previous knowledge of safe assessment and prescription of exercises which is safe for rehabilitation in any client along the spectrum of bone loss (from simple low bone mass to complex osteoporosis with co-morbidities)
- Progress or adapt exercise programming particularly for back strengthening, using the TFTF guidelines with clients with osteoporosis
- Safely incorporate posture and balance retraining within exercise programs for osteoporosis
- Safely incorporate core strengthening
- Implement safe rehabilitation principles for acute vertebral fractures and clients with complex osteoporosis
- Ensure safe decision making for manual therapy interventions
